It often happens that we have an idea and then reconsider, self-censoring ourselves due to an assumed banality; other times we are held back by limited financial resources, and where that isn't enough, in Italy bureaucracy and taxation take care of the rest.
Today's advice is go for it and believe in it – the entrepreneurs of the future could be you! Italians are a people whose history has seen a succession of geniuses, great innovators, creatives, artists and excellent entrepreneurs; today, however, we risk penalizing ourselves and falling behind.
Have you ever thought about innovating in the world of wine?
Not necessarily in the production process or in cultivation – your winning idea could be hiding there, and perhaps it's something simple you've always thought about, like for example a place to keep your wine!
Here we are about to tell you about BYO Wine Rack! Founded thanks to capital raised once again using Crowdfunding and the Kickstarter platform (just like Melanie Brown), it is essentially a customizable and modular display rack you can configure to your liking.
"It transforms an ordinary, static kitchen accessory into a dynamic focal point" – that seems like an overstatement to us! In practice, you can build a display rack simply by slotting the various pieces together, just like a puzzle, and give the structure whatever shape and capacity you desire.
Easy to assemble and compact, it will initially be available in the colors red, cobalt blue and graphite, which you can naturally combine to create a multicolored display rack.
Of course it can be disassembled and reconfigured to give it a different look "every day" (we certainly love spending our days taking display racks apart and putting them back together!).
The idea grew out of making wooden display racks that were glued and painted – "it wasn't easy, it wasn't elegant," describes the founder, Nick Puglisi, a mechanical engineer who has invested dedication and passion into this project in order to shape his career and make his mark in the world of design. He also dreams of one day being able to teach teenagers how to work with wood!
The rewards for the most generous donors are "pieces" of BYO Wine Rack, which in less than a month managed to raise the funds needed for the start-up, with the founder expecting to be able to ship the first pieces by October 2015.
In my opinion it's a banal idea, but if he managed to raise over 3,000 dollars in a month for this thing, why not give it a shot?
