Can a few glasses of white wine really contribute to making a woman aggressive? Victoria Moore has demonstrated through studies conducted on a sample of rational and calm women that a real correlation exists.
The properties of good wine are endless – the ancient Romans used to say "in vino veritas," and indeed wine has the magical power to free every person from any inhibition, to the point of making us confess even our most intimate truths. But that white wine might have particular intoxicating effects on women is a characteristic that was previously unknown to us.
From various experts we have learned that white wine may have the power to make the docile female gender practically aggressive. The one asserting this finding is Victoria Moore herself, a wine expert and cocktail specialist who for several years has studied the intoxicating properties of white wine and its tendency to make women aggressive – a study conducted on herself and on a sample of women, all very calm and rational.
According to Victoria Moore, just a couple of glasses of white wine would be enough to cause even the calmest woman in the world to turn aggressive – much like the followers of the Greek Goddess Dionysus, to whom sacrifices and dances were dedicated. The maenads, under the influence of white wine, were able to become aggressive and uninhibited. According to Moore, the cause of the increase in aggression lies in its very composition – alcohol – which is also capable of increasing aggression in male squirrels during mating season, and is likewise recognized for its anxiolytic properties.
From her studies, Victoria Moore has concluded that there are three main reasons behind aggressive behavior, which depend on the amount of alcohol consumed – especially when drunk on an empty stomach – the social context in which the white wine is consumed, and the motivation that drives us to drink it. Alcohol is increasingly being considered an alternative drug, and the emotional factor certainly plays a fundamental role as well, even though there are no scientific studies that demonstrate a real correspondence between the consumption of white wine and a change in mood after drinking it.
