Cantine del Notaio, in the green heart of Basilicata, has devoted its commitment and research to exploring the full oenological potential of Aglianico, which finds its finest expression in the Vulture thanks to a felicitous combination of temperatures, rainfall and soil — shaped by the volcanic tuff that "nurses the vines." The estate comprises about 40 hectares spread across particularly suited areas of 5 municipalities of the Vulture. The wines age under extraordinary conditions in ancient 17th-century tuff caves, once belonging to the Franciscan Friars, that extend over roughly 1,500 sq m of underground space, ensuring very high humidity that remains constant all year round.
